C1.        First-time, first-year (freshman) students: The number of degree-seeking students who applied, were admitted, and enrolled (full-or-part-time) constitute the freshman class.  The cohort includes those admitted by early decision, early action, and students who began studies during summer.  Applications include all students who fulfilled the requirements for consideration for admission (including payments or waiving of the application fee, if any) and who have been notified of one of the following actions: admission, non-admission, or application withdrawn (by applicant or institution).  The category “admitted applicants” includes any wait-list students who were subsequently offered admission.
