About BOR Goals:
The state system of higher education is governed, in turn, by a Board of Regents. (BOR) It is through the USG BOR that the state funds operations for SSU.
Periodically the BOR and its chancellor establishes formal planning goals for the university system and occasionally distributes notice of the planning goals to interested parties.
Specific planning goals (currently numbering 11) as identified in the last such distribution are listed on the BOR Goals screen. The latest one, “customer service enhancement” was proposed by the Governor and mandated by the Chancellor during the summer, 2006.
To link a unit planning objective directly to an announced BOR planning goal, position the cursor over the planning goal (whereupon a description of that goal as received from the BOR is displayed in the lower window) and click the right arrow to move it to into the “Selected BOR Goals” window. (To reverse this action and remove a BOR goal from its link to the planning objective, position the cursor over the goal in the right window and click the left arrow.)
