About competitors:

Identify what other institutions and departments (either inside or outside the university), might provide (nearly) the same service for your beneficiaries if your unit were unable to do so.

As an exercise, imagine that for some reason you entire unit or work group were suddenly unable to perform its basic functions (suppose, for example, all caught a mild but unnamed infectious disease and were quarantined together off campus and out of communication for 6 months). To whom might the university turn to supply the normal functions of your unit in the total absence of its regular staff?

To select suitable competitors, highlight a name from the competitors list (left hand column) and click the right arrow to move it to the “chosen competitors” list (right hand column). To remove a selected competitor from your unit’s list, highlight a name in the right-hand column and click the left arrow to move it back to the left-hand column.
