About SSU Themes:

At the outset of each planning cycle (in recent years, SSU has established a sequence of 5-year cycles), the university establishes, under the direction of the President’s cabinet, a short list of general planning goals towards which the University proposes to focus and encourage considerable developmental work.

The likelihood of an individual planning objective receiving strong institutional support should be maximized whenever the objective is linked overtly to and supports development of any of these formally promulgated institutional planning goals. {For clarity, these institution-wide planning goals are labeled “Themes”.}

These few institution-wide themes are listed for convenience under the tab “SSU Themes”.  Positions the cursor highlight over a theme and a short description of the theme appears in the lower window on the Theme screen.  Click the right arrow, and the theme moves into the right hand “selected” box.

The Strategic Planner then tracks in its data base all planning objectives with linkages to Themes that are so identified.
