Welcome to SSU's IRP Web:
Savannah State University Institutional Research and Planning Web is intended
as a strategic planning
tool for the campus community . The purpose of this web site is to
provide current and accurate aggregate institutional data and other information, in
accessible and usable archival format, for use by responsible users. Accordingly,
access is available to anyone via the WWW. While this inter-net web site and its contents are not intended to be a
primarily a part of the
public domain, it is accessible by the public. The site does not contain
any personal information protected by individual privacy rights. Providing university information to the general public is the
responsibility of the Office of Public Information.
Contents of the SSU's IRP Web:
Available in this web site are several types of information important for planning
purposes:
a. Raw aggregate data extracted from official university data bases, generally displayed in both
table and graphic formats
b. Findings and conclusions from specific Institutional Research Office studies,
generally combining various data drawn directly from part a, above.
c. Formal documents and papers representing official university governance, policy,
procedural, and operational statements
d. Miscellaneous other documents and advice relating to institutional research,
planning, and evaluation techniques
e. Formal presentations to and about the SSU University community and

Institutional Research Staff and/or others
f. Connecting links to other external data sources useful for strategic planning
purposes in this region
Using SSU IRP:
In using this site for planning, bear in mind several special peculiarities of this
electronic "Strategic Fact Book" format:
a. The site is always under development; data and organization are subject to weekly
change as errors may be discovered and/or new information is found to be relevant.
b. Raw data is presented here for the university as a whole, for each college or major
division of the university, and for each formal academic program or unit in the university.
c. In citing data or information from this site, a full citation should record the
complete web address and date for any unique page on which it is located. (Updates
to the web site will be placed on line weekly during the year and older versions will be
kept in the IRP Office Data Warehouse for continued reference for a period of one calendar
year.)
d. The file structure employed is "nested." One clicks on an
underlined title or name to go to a page; one clicks on the browser return
arrow to return to the prior page. Clicking any URL opens a page to view.
Pages often contain further links to other pages.
e. Contents from any particular page may be downloaded or printed at will from your own
computer, minimizing your need to collect great masses of paper from the IRP office in
support of your strategic research, planning, and evaluation work.
