To develop a specific plan for a University-wide program of faculty development by FY 1997.

Action Plans

FY 1994:

The Vice President for Academic Affairs will activate the Faculty Development Committee as defined in the Savannah State University Faculty Manual.

The Faculty Development Committee will identify existing faculty development efforts on the campus and investigate methods for expanding faculty development efforts to benefit the entire University and provide a report to the faculty in the Spring of 1994.

Resources Needed: No new resources are required.

FY 1995:

The Faculty Development Committee will work with the Office of Sponsored Research to identify potential funding sources for the expansion of faculty development programs.

At least one proposal for external funding of a campus faculty development program will be submitted in 1994-1995.

Resources Needed: The Faculty Development Committee and the Vice President for Academic Affairs will define the resources to be requested in the proposal for external funding.
