Display 0434: New Transfers: Credits Transferred by Major by College

While most new students matriculating at SSU do so as freshmen, they may and do transfer in to SSU at various points in their academic careers. In some cases they transfer in with degrees in hand--sometimes from community or technical colleges and sometimes from other 4-year colleges. Yet, often students who may have qualified for a prior degree (for example, an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Applied Arts from a 2-year institution) have not applied for one as they have been more focused upon a longer-term goal of transferring elsewhere to earn a Bachelor's degree. Further, students often transfer into SSU with credits from more than one single prior college. Regardless of the route taken, at the point of transferring, there is some total number of college credit hours with which they are credited by SSU's Registrar. That number of total hours is reported in the table below by major, by College, and by year since 2002. The hours transferred are reported in 5 "bands" as follows:

                    <15 (equivalent to one full-time term)
        15.0-- 29.9 (equivalent to one full-time year)
        30.0-- 59.9 (equivalent to two full-time years)
        60.0--119.9 (equivalent to 3-4 full-time years)
                  120+ (equivalent to a bachelor's degree)
