the immediate post-war years, Savannah State attracted about half the post-secondary
college enrollment in coastal Georgia. (Data is unavailable for 1944 and
1945.) By the end of the century, SSU's share had declined to about 10%. While
the market for public higher education in the region grew greatly after the war, the
greatest portion was absorbed by Georgia Southern University. |
