Display 0751:  Learning-Support and College-Ready Freshmen,
                         First-Time, Full-Time, Retained to 2nd Year

Retention rates are calculated for First-Time, Full-Time freshmen students enrolled in the fall term ("cohort year") who return the following fall.
The University System of Georgia (USG) tracks separately the return rates of college-ready students and learning-support students (who are
admitted only to engage in remedial work).  These two cohorts are disaggregated for comparisons because only 4 system institutions (Columbus,
Augusta, Armstrong, and SSU) admit non-college ready students (whose retention & college success rates differ markedly from those of college-ready
students. Since USG compares these rates between institutions, the Chancellor and his staff have determined that rates should be compared for
college-ready students across the system.  [Rates for the 2005 cohort are still under review by the system office owing to data irregularities system-wide.]
For aggregate rates for all first-time, full-time freshmen combined, please see Display 0750.
