Display 2007:  Random Suggestions for Improving IRP at SSU

SSU's office of Institutional Research and Planning conducts an annual "IRP General Effectiveness Survey" of its users and customers of record in the Spring term.  Results that follow are drawn from that survey.  In May, 2000, 103 surveys were distributed and 27 were returned within 90 days, constituting a 26% response rate. 

Survey respondents were invited to provide written responses to the following sentences.  Responses received between May--July, 2000, are detailed below, abstracted.

1.  Institutional research & planning support for SSU could be most improved by...

more participation in the planning function of the university
acquiring a graduate assistant
getting more staff
improve relationships (with other staff)
hire a director that is friendly and can work with people
have a larger facility
use data to improve/change university operations
inform SSU community by e-mail
produce a monthly or quarterly newsletter
generate more followup on graduates
produce a fact book
make data available to IRP itself
inform staff on how to use IRP services
